Some of you may have noticed a new sign on the front of the house. I have
incorporated this sign as the web sites background graphic. Click here to view a picture of the original version.

The sign was commissioned by us for the cattery and is a print of the
original acrylic painting (now hanging in our house). It was completed by
feline artist Diane Elson who regularly exhibits at Wold Galleries, which
is situated in picturesque Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds, and is
run by our very good friends Ella and Kit, please visit their web site at

Born in Sutton, Surrey in 1953 Diane decided as a child to be an artist and
it was clear from her exceptional ability at drawing and painting shown at
school that she was destined for a career in art. Diane won many prizes
for her work and while still at school began writing and illustrating
books, some 21 were published.

Leaving school Diane had already established herself as an illustrator so
it was not difficult to develop a career in art. Through exhibitions Diane
built a steady demand for her original paintings and at the same time
became a fine illustrator. She was invited to lecture in illustration at
St Martins Art College, London. Diane has gone on to establish an
international reputation as an artist holding one woman exhibitions in
England, Holland, Germany, Sweden, USA and Japan where she has been
declared a national treasure! Diane’s fame in Japan has followed her back
to England where the English Japanese community pay frequent visits to her
studio to commission or buy works for themselves or relatives back home.

Diane shares her Hampshire home and studio with her husband and four cats.
