A Well Established Cattery

Hello, our names are Sue Clayton and Sarah Hannant, and we run Highfield Cat Hotel in Ibstock, Leicestershire. We are local to Coalville, Hugglescote, Ellistown, Barlestone, Heather and Ashby-de-la-Zouch although we enjoy custom from across Leicestershire, Warwickshire, South Derbyshire as well as other counties, near and far.

The cattery is fully licensed; we are proud to say that we were the first cattery to be awarded a 5 Star Licence by North West Leicestershire District Council (Licence No NWL/AB03).

All the units meet the highest DEFRA rating requirements and have been improved over the years to maintain the high standards. Our chalets are very spacious and airy, warm, clean and secure with appropriate space (rather than a solid barrier) between each chalet to give that individual feel. All have natural light and access to their own generous outside area attached to their chalet. Only cats from the same household are allowed to share; your cat will never come into contact with another that he or she does not already live with. We do not board dogs so your cat will not be disturbed by excited canines.

All our chalets are double size (larger than licencing requires) or family sized which can easily house from three to, well, a very large number of cats from the same household. All our indoor areas are generous full-size chalets (you can stand full height in the inside area) and are heated to at least 18 degrees in the chilly months…often to a higher temperature. 

Our indoor areas are spacious enough that your cat can jump and stretch without leaving their chalet area; in addition, they have a choice of a number of different indoor snoozing places. There are different levels and areas for those cats who like to watch what is going on outside, sniff the fresh air and go into their spacious covered run. 

Your cat does not have to be able to use a cat flap to go in and out of their chalet, or jump up or climb a ladder so each chalet is suitable for all ages and dispositions.

Medications (tablets, injections or creams etc) are administered as per your or your vet’s instructions. For safety reasons, all medication must be in its original prescribed container.

We have been closely involved with animals all our lives and have many years of experience in animal care, especially with our feline friends. The welfare and happiness of your cat is immensely important to us. We have cooked, cleaned, cared for, and loved (and been bossed around by) many cats over the years through good and bad health.

We have a small, experienced and dedicated team of caring and compassionate staff who are always on hand to offer the best of care and attention to our residents.
